Fatigue... Go, Go Away!
How often do you find yourself waking up exhausted or needing an afternoon shot of espresso to get through the day? If you find the answer to be too often, you may need help to get rid of your fatigue. Many factors may contribute to fatigue; the first to be addressed is whether or not you have insomnia or poor sleep quality. Some patients can benefit with some herbal or supplement remedies for this sleep issue.

Organic Acid Testing & Nutritional Deficits
Health conditions that cause fatigue can be identified by using an Organic Acid Test (OAT). Nutrients in the body are responsible for protecting the liver, brain, heart, and other vital organs; organic acid tests indicate deficiencies or abundances in nutrients that may or may not have been broken down properly. ACN Wellness can assess fatigue based off of the results of an OAT. This specialized testing is used to identify cause that is often reversible.

How Does Fatigue Relate to Hormone Balance
Symptoms of fatigue may coincide with an individual with hormonal deficiencies or imbalances. Hormones are responsible for triggering a number of physiological tasks. It is not uncommon for a person to have normal hormone levels but have a hormone imbalance.

Fatigue and Adrenal Glands
Adrenal glands allow the body to compensate for a variety of stressors, i.e. physical trauma, disease, job, emotional etc. When your adrenal glands are overworked, adrenal fatigue may set in. Symptoms of adrenal fatigue include:

  • Weakness
  • Depression
  • Fatigue
  • Autoimmune disorders
  • Decreased libido
  • Skin problems
  • Decreased stress tolerance
  • Weight gain
  • Weight loss
  • Increased allergies
  • Bone loss
  • Suppressed immunity

Fatigue & Thyroid Function
If you have a weak thyroid, energy output is lowered. Specialized thyroid testing and assessment for root causes of thyroid issues are vital to treating fatigue. ACN Wellness assesses for other non-standard diagnoses such as thyroid resistance, Wilson's Temperature Syndrome, subclinical hypothyroidism, Hashimoto's Disease, and poor thyroid hormone conversion (T4 to T3).

Using Acupuncture for Fatigue
Chinese medicine focuses on the quality and quantity of energy, also known as Qi, flowing throughout the body as being a main issue among chronic health conditions. If there is a blockage in the flow of energy, various illnesses may occur. Chronic fatigue is often seen as a symptom of blocked Qi. Acupuncture restores the Qi and can be utilized for fatigue treatment.
